I’ve installed The Movies on my computer to see what it’s liked. There.com is similar to the art style but it was a social virtual chat service. I decided early on that The Movies may have similar gameplay as Sims. Why bother buying it, right? I gave in thinking LionHead Studios wouldn’t fail me and I’m glad I did. I’ve been playing off and on for a week now, making Movies, hiring stars, crew, and then making the buildings.
I don’t care much for the actual production of the movie in the game but the strategy on making the studio sets and making is fun. The makeover part is a neat way to change the stars to different era and such. I wouldn’t quite say The Movies grasped me like RTS games, but it’s a fun game worth giving a try!
