Unreal Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to the original #Unreal game! A company by the name of Epic Megagames and publisher GT Interactive announced a game that would rival Quake II. Back then I was only aware of Jazz Jackrabbit from Epic Megagames. I received a free retail copy of the game to beta test it for Mplayer’s multiplayer gaming service. Playing the game for the first time, it was truly the most beautiful game I had ever played! The colors of the maps were brilliant, almost mesmerizing, but the gameplay / movement in the game didn’t feel as comfortable as Quake. The multiplayer mode also had a tremendous amount of bugs early on that made it frustrating to play with friends, but I still enjoyed the single player mode. I have to say, my favorite game in the franchise is Unreal Tournament 2004, though!
